Rosita is a woman who, at the end of the day, believes in something out there, guiding and protecting and grieving and encouraging them through their lives; she doesn't claim to know what it is, anything about it, anything about what it wants from her. But she hopes.
Mostly she believes in exactly that: in men and women, here, present and willing, helping each other. Doing for each other. She could have done more for Vrenille, probably. She could have done less. She did none of it for thanks.
She reaches across and offers her hand, palm up, to him now and smiles.
"That's what we do, isn't it?" she asks, lightly, but seriously. "Stick with our people." Because in the end, what else do they really have?
