"I did." He lifts his hand to show the ring Blitzø gave him - since receiving the thing, he's rarely been without it. He does have the gift Rosita gave him, too, but he frets about it getting broken and so it only very occasionally leaves his cabin.
"I try to assume I never know much of anything," he adds, equally innocent, and picks up a fork for himself.
"Bullshit," she returns, fond. "It's my birthday. You can't lie to me today."
When she sees what kind of cake it is under the frosting, she makes a soft sound of excitement: "Tres leches? Someone's been doing some homework -" And it smells delicious.
Once they each have their plate, she's quick to pick up a fork and dig in herself, and she groans in obscene pleasure as the sweetness of it melts over her tongue.
"I wasn't sure if it came out as you might expect," Astarion admits. He
doesn't like homework either, but he did it! "It's not entirely like
anything I'd tried to make before."
He takes a bite for himself and smiles. It's moist and sweet, with the
slightest hint of cinnamon.
"Oh fuck the bull," he says over his shoulder. "I prefer my parts intact. But I'll dance with you. I think I've got a couple of two-steps in me." He switches the music to play again and holds out a hand for her. "Don't touch the jukebox," he tells Astarion playfully.
