Well, yes, there is that I suppose. Do you feel you're the sort that needs to have an eye kept on them at all times, or do you prefer more autonomy on the matter?
Then it would seem our realistic options are as such. The first is I keep a set of eyes on you at all times, which I imagine would be the most likely thing to provoke you into something. The second is I tell you not to do it, which you may or may not listen to. The third is we twiddle our thumbs for the coming weeks, and should you find yourself in trouble, I'll take you to Zero as a slap on the wrist but knowing there's little other leverage to hold over you as a temporary assignment. I'll leave it to you to decide which seems most agreeable to your situation.
A solution suggests a problem. I don't see you as a problem. I don't even know you, and if I were to view everyone I knew who'd stabbed someone because they wanted to as problems, I'd have very few friends indeed. My preferred preventative method would be to become acquainted with you, something that seems sorely lacking when it comes to temporary pairings.
Are you really surprised that a relationship built solely because some asshole arbitrarily assigned one person to mind the other one isn't really successful?
I prefer to operate on a more "you get what you give" ideal. If the attitude is to not jump in head first and try, then, no, it's hardly surprising it won't work out. But an attempt ought to be made before failure is declared.
I see no reason not to treat it as though it were a permanent assignment, but I also see no reason in pushing you into such an agreement. It's meant to be a partnership, after all.
A fact which I regret and cannot change, nor can I claim to understand why I've ended up on this side of things and not the other, but success is futile if the pairing won't work together.
[She isn't sorry, not really. Someday maybe but she doesn't have the energy right now.
The problem is, she promised Jesus she'd try. And regardless of her assessment of the situation, of its likely outcome, she does still want to be someone who keeps her word.
A trait all cosmic beings seem to share. At least the Admirable seems to have an interest in preserving those here. Some in his position would just leave us to die.
